dive into a world of flora and fauna
A unique experience to accomplish on the mountain is to conquer the world of mountains with children. Children see things that adults no longer perceive. Their imagination is stimulated colossally.
You dive into a world of flora and fauna, which you don’t usually see in your everyday life. The stories you heard from books and films suddenly become a reality.
It never ceases to amaze as to how the mountains influence us – just like a big adventure park. And the little ones show the adults how it should be done. One only has to dare enter the miracle of the mountains.
How wonderful mountains can be is shown by the Heilkraeuterweg (medical herb path) am Reoterkogel in Hinterglemm. On this pleasurable circular path (around 30 minutes, at 1,544 meters above sea level) Hobby gardeners and nature enthusiasts are able to discover 80 native plants. On signs and in the medical-herbs folders you receive detailed information about the individual herbs, as well as the benefits and uses of such herbs. There is a herb against every illness. Visiting the medical herbs path is free of charge.
The Glemmtal offers options that cover the needs of the big, small, experienced and new mountain adventurers. But the most beautiful thing is the breathtaking panorama that one experiences while hiking and the sitting together afterwards: once the adventure packed day has ended and everyone is reunited in the valley, they start sharing their experiences with one another and everyone falls asleep happily – full of anticipation for the next day.
With the JOKER CARD the use of the mountain railway, the bus or the valley train as well as the hiking guides (by the tourist association) are free of charge.
